- How do I take part in one of your hikes?
- New-comers are welcome to join us on one of our introductory hikes.
- Consult our web calendar for details of the next introductory hike and meet at the pre-arranged 1st meeting point - the Supervalu Carpark in Maynooth at 9:00am on the Sunday morning that has an introductory hike scheduled.
- Read our visitors rules which explains what to wear and bring with you.
- Enjoy the hike.
- Is there any charge for taking part in an introductory hike?
- There is no charge but if you are getting a lift with someone else on the hike make an offer to contribute towards fuel.
- How do I become a member?
- Take part in one introductory hike and up to 3 more hikes - Introductory or Moderate and speak to the hike leader and he/she will get you a membership form. The cost of membership is €50.00 per year running from November to November in line with the Mountaineering Council of Ireland membership year.
- Do you do any mountaineering or rock climbing?
- No. Maynooth Hillwalking Club conducts hikes only. You should check out the Moutaineering Council of Ireland website http://www.mountaineering.ie for details of clubs that offer more exuberant activities!
- Can I bring my children?
- No. Maynooth Hillwalking Club only caters for adult walkers.
- Can I bring my dogs?
- No. As a lot of the walks are conducted in areas were wildlife and sheep are present it is safest not to allow pets.
